China yarn output in April 2003 was 786,400 tons (in large-scale enterprises), up by 5,000 tons comparing to March. The cumulative yarn output in Jan.-Apr. was 2,849,700 tons, up by 22.22%.
In April the top two provinces in yarn output are Jiangsu and Shandong, 169,200 and 147,000 tons respectively.
In April, China fabric output was 1.976 billion meters. The cumulative fabric output in Jan.-Apr. was 7.174 billion meters, up by 9.68%. Cotton fabric output was 1.048 billion meters in Apr. and cumulative output was 3.744 billion meters, up by 10.09%. The garment output in April was 793,280,000 pieces and cumulative garment output was 20,803,170,000 pieces, up by 12.51%.
